Wynot Public School
WYNOT — The 2006-07 calendar for Wynot Public School has several dates on it for the month of August.
School will start back in session Aug. 17 for students at Wynot Public School; Teachers will be back at school for in-service education on Aug. 14. Homecoming at Wynot High School will be Sept. 15 this year.
School handbooks were reviewed and accepted by the Wynot School Board members at there Thursday meeting.
“They are very similar to last year,” said Principal Rich Higgins. “One exception is the change in the price of school lunch.”
The school lunch and breakfast prices were all raised a nickel, according to Higgins.
“We should be OK with that ,” said President Kevin Klug. “We are starting out with some money, and with bumping the price up a little we will be OK.”
The prices are as follows:
Breakfast:
K-12                $1.50
Faculty             $2.00
Lunch:
K-6                  $2.00
7-12                 $2.25
Faculty             $3.00
Milk:
Students           .45 cents
Faculty             .50 cents.

The Driver’s Education program was discussed. The fee for Driver’s Education will stay the same as last year at $210 per student.
Student fees also stay the same as last year.
“If a student received free or reduced lunches, he can request no payment on student fees,” said Higgins. “But hardly anyone uses it.”
Repair work had been done on the drains at the concession stand.
“The drains were plugged, Kathol had to be called to open them,” said Higgins.
The building used as a concession stand also needs to have the roof repaired according to Higgins..

“We could extend the roof out,” said Higgins. “It would be good at football games if it rains or snows. We can use tin on the roof this time.”
The building was put up by the Village of Wynot; even though it sits on school property. Both the school and the village use the concession stand.
The Wynot School is in need of a paraprofessional, custodian, assistant girls basketball coach, bus driver and also needs help in the Special Education room.
An ad has been placed to fill the positions, according to Higgins.

Two buses are ready to sell ‘as is’. Sealed bids will be taken by the Wynot School Board members.
Discussion was held on the need of an air conditioner for the computer lab. The decision was tabled.
The Wynot School Board went into executive session to discuss personnel.
The next school board meeting will be at 7 p.m. on Aug. 10. The 2006-07 budget will be on the agenda.
