Sally (Schmitt) Sandford
Paul, Idaho — Sally (Schmitt) Sanford, a 76-year-old resident of Paul, died Feb. 15, 2007, at St. Luke’s Magic Valley Regional Medical Center, Twin Falls.
A memorial service was held Feb. 19 at Rasmussen Funeral Home,, Burley, Idaho, with Pastor Dennis Stoneman, First Baptist Church of Burley, officiating.
Sally was born June 29, 1930, in Fordyce, to Theodore John and Josephine Ann Mariam Tramp Albrecht. She graduated from Mount Marty High School, Yankton, S.D., and received a teaching certificate from Wayne State Teacher’s College, Wayne. Sally taught elementary education and beauty techniques. She married Ralph Schmitt May 24, 1951, and they resided on a farm near Hartington. In 1971, Sally and the children moved to Rupert, Idaho. Sally married Ted H. Sanford March 23, 2001, in Elko, Nev. Together, they enjoyed five of the happiest years of her life.
Sally loved to garden and especially enjoyed spending time in her flower gardens. She also enjoyed ceramics, was involved in the Community Concerts at the King Fine Arts Center, and was a charter member of the Minico Soroptimist Club. Sally also loved selling Mary Kay Cosmetics and enjoyed making others look beautiful.
She is survived by her husband, Ted H. Sanford of Paul; her children and their spouses, Rodney and Rose Schmitt, Heyburn, Idaho; Arden J. and Karen Schmitt, Gooding, Idaho; Loran M. and Kay Schmitt, Twin Falls, Idaho; Chaplain Perry J. and Sylvia Schmitt, Fort Lewis, Wash.; Howard J. and Laurie Schmitt, Heyburn, Idaho; and Peggy Schmitt, Los Angeles, Calif.; her stepchildren, Roberta Panian, San Leandro, Calif.; Vicki Pennington, San Lorenzo, Calif.; and Ted Sanford Jr., Reno, Nev.; three sisters, Rita Burbach, Madison, Wis.; Sister Clare Albrecht, Marynoll, N.Y.; and Joan and Gerald Suing, Fordyce; one brother, Floyd and Joyce Albrecht, Fordyce; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; eight step grandchildren, and one step great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Roman and Vitus Albrecht; and three sisters, Velma Moen, Sister Agnes Albrecht and Marie Bart.
