Robert Charles "Bud" Wagner
BELTON, Texas—Robert Charles “Bud” Wagner, 70, Temple Texas, died May 17, 2007, at his home after a year long battle with cancer.
Services were May 21 at Foundation United Methodist Church, Temple, with the Rev. Russell Fletcher and the Rev. Jack Riley officiating.
Burial with military honors followed in Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, Killeen, Texas.
Robert was born in McCook, to Robert Lee and Ruth Elizabeth Eisenach Wagner. He graduated from Hartington High School in 1954 and served 20 years in the U.S. Army, including two tours of duty in Vietnam. He married Sally Carter Dec. 28, 1957, in Grand Island. They were married 49 years. He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska and a master’s degree from Virginia State University.
He retired as a Lt. Colonel in 1979. His military awards include the Bronze Star Medal with two oak leaf clusters, two Meritorious Unit Citations, Vietnam Service Medal with one silver and one bronze service star and two Vietnamese Crosses of Gallantry with palm.
Following his retirement from the military, he became a partner at Absolute Computers, Austin, Texas, and worked for several defense contractors at Fort Hood. He also worked for H&R Block.
 He was a member of Foundation United Methodist Church, Temple.
Survivors include his wife, Sally, Temple, Texas; one son, David R. Wagner, Austin, Texas; one daughter, Allison Hall, Austin, Texas; two sisters, Marilyn Allison, Temple, Texas, and Virginia Scott, Lucas, Texas; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Price, and one grandchild.
Memorials may be made to the Foundation United Methodist Church Building Fund or to VistaCare Hospice, Temple.
Dossman Funeral Home, Belton, Texas, was in charge of arrangements.
