Robert "Bob" Hahne
SOMERVILLE, Texas — Robert "Bob" Hahne, 72, Somerville, Texas, died Feb. 14, 2007, at St. Joseph Health Care Center, Bryan, Texas.
A memorial service was held Feb. 17 at the Strickland Funeral Home Chapel, Somerville, with Charles Law officiating.
Bob was born Dec. 14, 1934, on a farm outside of Coleridge, the son of Irvin Ludwig and Dorothy Irene (Lewon) Hahne. He graduated from Coleridge High School in 1952 and joined the United States Marine Corps January 1953. He was honorably discharged in January 1956.
He married Carol Marie Jorgensen August 1956 in Coleridge. He received his bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from the Missouri School of Mines and worked for Boeing Aircraft, McDonnel-Douglas before going to work for NASA in Houston.
He is survived by his mother, Dorothy (Lewon) Hahne, Coleridge; his five children and their spouses, Julie and Jackie Strickland, Somerville, Texas; Jeannie and Dennis Stevens, Hallsville, Texas; Mike and Ester Hahne, Somerville, Texas; Shane and Kelly Hahne, League City, Texas; and Dan and Vickie Hahne, Richlands, N.C.; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Rosey and Neal Hodges, Blackhawk, S.D., and Janet and Dewey Jorgensen of Pioneer, Calif.; a brother and sister-in-law, Mert and Judy Hahne, Coleridge; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his father and his wife of 34 years.
