Norbert A. Shaefer
Randolph — Norbert A. Schaefer, 75, Randolph, died March 10, 2007, at Osmond General Hospital, Osmond.
Visitation will be 2-6:30 p.m., with a rosary at 5 p.m., March 14, at St. Francis DeChantel Catholic Church, Randolph.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., March 15, at St. Francis DeChantel Catholic Church, Randolph, with Rev. Ron Battiato officiating.
Burial will be at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, Randolph.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, David Paulson, Todd Schaefer, Tyler Schaefer, Evin Timmerman, Mike Wiedenfeld, Travis Schaefer and Nathan Wiedenfeld
Honorary pallbearers will be his granddaughters, Sandra Paulson, Erin Wiedenfeld, Kayla Schaefer, Becky Schaefer, Karen Schaefer and Janet Schaefer
Norbert was born Aug. 18, 1931, to John Schaefer and Francis Pinkelman in Menominee. He attended District 12, Menominee Public School through eighth grade. He married Anna Marie Wieseler April 20, 1955, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, St. Helena. After they were married, they lived at Hillman, Minn., where they raised cattle and milked cows for 10 years. They moved to the Randolph area in 1967, where they continued to farm, retiring from farming in 1992.
They enjoyed going to Havasu, Ariz., in the winter for years.
Norbert was a member of St. Francis DeChantal Catholic Church, Randolph, and the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Marie Schaefer, Randolph; five sons, Ronald Schaefer, Wayne; Thomas and wife, Teresa Schaefer, Randolph; Larry and wife, Holly Schaefer, Sioux Falls, S.D.; Lenard and wife, Tammy Schaefer, Randolph; and Bruce Schaefer, Knoxville, Iowa; two daughters, Cheryl and John Paulsen, Norfolk, and Linda and husband, Mike Wiedenfeld, Norfolk; 21 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Joe, and wife, Betty Schaefer, Hartington; two sisters, Elizabeth Bowe, New York, and Eleanora and husband, Robert Hare, New York.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Mary; two brothers; one sister and one grandchild.
