Lorene W. Darland
MOUNT ANGEL, Ore. — Lorene W. Darland, 87, Mount Angel, Ore., died March 9, 2007.
She was born Sept. 30, 1919 to Siebelt and Bertha (Korff) Dirks in Coleridge and lived most of her life there working as a bookkeeper. She married Deuel Darland in 1942. He died in 1985. After her husband passed away, she retired to San Diego, Calif. She moved to Mount Angel, Ore., two years ago. She enjoyed doing volunteer work in hospitals and was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Silverton, Ore.
Survivors include her son, Roger Darland, Scotts Mills, Ore.; and one granddaughter, Jocelyn Darland, Redondo Beach, Calif.
A memorial service was held at Mount Angel Towers, Mount Angel, Ore., with arrangements under the direction of Unger Funeral Chapel, Silverton, Ore.
Remembrances are to be directed to Willamette Valley Hospice.
