Harold E. Carlson
Laurel — Harold E. Carlson, 82, Laurel, died May 31, 2007, at Providence Medical Center, Wayne.
Visitation, with a Celebration Service, was June 4 at Evangelical Free Church, Concord.
Services were June 5 at the Evangelical Free Church, Concord, with Rev. Todd Thelen officiating.
Pallbearers were Harold’s grandsons, Scott Carlson, Joe Carlson, Geoff Carlson, Vincent Carlson, Sean Carlson, Chad Carlson, Micah Hansen, Nick Hansen and Tyler Hansen
Honorary pallbearers were his grandchildren, Debra Carlson, Sharon Longe, Lara Schwindeman, Ben Carlson, Karissa Carlson Thomas and Makayla Hansen.
Interment was in the Concord Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Hasemann-Schumacher Funeral Homes, Laurel.
Harold Ernest Carlson was born June 30, 1924, on a farm near Wayne, to Joseph and Esther (Gustafson) Carlson. He graduated from Concord Public School. Harold married Eleanor Graffis Feb. 16, 1946, at Logan Center United Methodist Church, rural Laurel. The couple farmed north of Laurel.
Harold was a member of the Evangelical Free Church, Concord, where he was a Sunday School teacher, held many offices, and belonged to the northeast Nebraska Men’s Fellowship and Gideons.
Harold is survived by his wife, Eleanor; children and their spouses, Richard and Judy Carlson, Laurel; Eldon and Susan Carlson, Bloomer, Wis.; Gregory and Donna Carlson, Streamwood, Ill.; Larry and Vikki Carlson, Laurel; and Lori and Dan Hansen, Laurel; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Lucille Carlson and Alice Graffis, both of Laurel; and several nieces and nephews.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers and spouses, Milton and Agnes Carlson, Clifford Carlson, David Carlson, and Melvin and Fonielle Carlson; two sisters, Hilvie and her husband, Laverne) Peterson, and Mabel Carlson; two brothers-in-law, Emory Graffis and Raymond Graffis; and a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Graffis.
Memorials may be sent to the Gideons and the Evangelica Free Church in Concord.
