Florence Fredricksen
Laurel — Florence Fredricksen, 95, Laurel, died Feb. 8, 2007, at the Hillcrest Care Center, Laurel.
Visitation, with a prayer service and Eastern Star service, were Feb. 12 at the Unted Presbyteraian Church, Laurel.
Funeral services were Feb. 13 at United Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Stephen deines officiating.
Pallbearers were Andrew Fredricksen, Jonathan Fredricksen,
Joel Lipp, Daniel Lipp, Brad Rath, Dennis Hart, David Lipp and David Wallace
Interment was in the Laurel Cemetery
Hasemann-Schumacher Funeral Homes, Laurel, was in charge of arrangements.
Florence Jennie Fredricksen was born May 8, 1911, at Vayland, S.D., to George and Jennie (Martin) Quist. Following the death of her mother, when she was four years old, Florence was adopted by Chris and Clara (Quist) Hansen. She attended and graduated from Laurel High School, then was employed as a telephone operator. Florence married Morton Fredricksen April 9, 1933, at her parent’s home. The couple lived in Laurel until moving to Lincoln in 1934. They lived in Omaha for a time. In 1941, they returned to Laurel before moving out to the farm southwest of Laurel in 1945. They retired into Laurel in 1979.
Florence was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, Laurel; United Presbyterian Women; Order of the Eastern Star; and E.L.T.
She enjoyed her weekly Bible Study, doing needlework, and spending time with her family.
Florence is survived by one son and his wife, Tom and Shirley Fredricksen, Laurel; one daughter and her husband, Marcia and Jim Lipp, Laurel; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and nieces and nephews.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Morton in 1996; three brothers, and four sisters.
